Do you know what your new car will be worth three years down the road? ALG probably does. This Santa Barbara, Calif.-based consulting service specializes in calculating a vehicle's residual value. In other words, ALG's number crunchers can tell you which models will keep their value over the long run. Dealers, lenders and manufacturers use the ALG data to set leasing rates; for consumers, it translates into resale value. ALG announces the winners each fall.
